Have you ever wanted to make your own BBQ rub? Well here's your chance.
I'm not really sure where I found this recipe (I'm sure it was in one of the many magazines I receive). I make batches and divvy out for gifts. It makes a great gift for almost any occasion or anyone.
I've used for
- Mother's Day
- Father's Day
- Christmas
- Birthday
- Boss's Day
- Bridal Shower
- Wedding Gift
- Teacher Appreciation
Makes: 1 cup
Total Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup kosher salt
- 1/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
Stir together all ingredients. Store in an airtight container up to one month.
I found some of these on clearance at Hobby Lobby and they make the perfect little gift. Add a little twine, a gift tag, a recipe or both and your all set.
Use 1 tablespoon per pound of pork, beef, or chicken. Let stand 30 minutes before grilling or smoking.
Be sure to stop back later in the week for the recipe I attach with the rub.
Linking to some of these lovely parties.
