Together we make a family!

Happy Friday!!!  TGIF!!!

Today is a brand new card sketch by Ann.  This sketch has room for a border, a circular center and three rectangles.

Card Sketch #8

My take.....

This is the fourth card from yesterdays post.  Again the colors are so much richer and bolder in person.

Simple Stories: Generations

I just received the Simple Stories: Generations 6x6 Paper Pad and I absolutely love the bold rich colors of this collection.

It was perfect timing as Lynn (From My Bungalow) makes beautiful cards and shared this little tutorial how to make four cards out of four sheets of 6x6 paper.

So I gave it a little try and added some of my own twists,  and this is what I came up with.  However, I'm only sharing three cards as the other was for a design team project that I can't share just yet.

Home Sweet Home

Keep in mind that the colors are much bolder and richer in person.  It was hard to get a good photo.

Tips on Thursday - Ribbons

- Wrap ribbons around your focal-point photo to add emphasis.

- Lace a strip of ribbon through punched holes along one side of the border to create a pretty-looking page accent.

- Don't have any ribbon to add to your layouts?  Cut out strips from your lined patterned papers and adhere these faux ribbons to your pages.

- Don't throw away your soda tabs!  Save them and use them as a "buckle" on your ribbons.  You can sand them and even paint them to match your ribbon.

- Run out of adhesive to hold down your ribbon?  Don't fret, tack down the ribbons using brads at each end.

I hope you find some of these tips useful.  Thanks for stopping by.....

Eerie Challenge

When Tami ask me to be an Eerie Volunteer and take on a challenge I was like a kid in the candy store...LOL.

She sent me three punches to play with and try out Hats Off Lever Punch; Scare Crow Squeeze Punch; and Happy Jacks Border Punch.

I was in the process of making a Halloween Wreath (as I hate always paying for one that only lasted a few years) for my front door.   I hope this one will last a little longer.  I used a purple web ribbon to wrap around the wreath.  I painted the Pumpkin, Witch Hat, and BOO Letters with Plaid Glitter Paint; when it was try I added some crackle medium.  I still thought the BOO letters were missing something so I used a black glitter felt peice I had to punch the hats and scare crows.  Afterwards, Tami mentioned that the punches are only meant for paper.

I created this gift tag and gift bag for my daughter's kindergarden teacher.  I used the new Fall Distress Inks on the tag.  I also ran the tag through my crimper.

And finally I made two Halloween Cards....The last card my daughter was playing around with me and was using my crimper and tear edgers.   Then she wanted to use the Happy Jacks Border Punch.  I was a little leery of letting her use it, but I think she did a great job.    She had no trouble at all using the punch.  They are so easy to use.  Thank goodness!   I attached everything to the black cardbase but she told me where to adhere everything. Not too bad for her first card and she even used Fiskars Tools.

Halloween Cards

****This is my second post today.****

Nana Beth, fisk•a•teer #2906 absolutely LOVES Halloween and she has asked her fellow fisk•a•teers to make the gallery scream with Halloween.  I don't think my cards will make you scream but they are Halloween.
Cat on Fence

Moon & Tree

Ghost & Pumpkin

Spider & Web

The pictures aren't the best as I was trying to take them as the sun was going down.  With all the rain in the east I had to get them in while I could.  I think you get the idea.

I have more Halloween projects to share; but not yet.  I need to wait for the reveal.
