Sassy Lil' Card Sketches

I was looking for card sketches one day and came across this site......Sassy Lil' Card Sketches
It seems that they post a different sketch every Thursday and if you want to play along you have a deadline to have your creation linked up.

I'm not very comfortable with cards just yet; but thought if I don't try I will never get comfortable...right?

So, that being said; I played along with the July 14th Card Sketch and the July 21st Card Sketch

July 14th

July 21st

All materials are from the Out of Print Collection by Basic Grey.

Thanks for stopping by....have a WONDERFUL day!

S:CY Tag Sketch

Ali gave us a BONUS sketch to try out this month at Sketches: Creatively Yours; a tag sketch.  As I've never did a tag before I thought I'd give it a shot.  Normally, I don't follow a sketch to a 'T' per say but I try to follow it.  However, with the tag sketch I don't think I followed it at all.

Ali's beautiful sketch.....

I actually did two different tags.  The Autumn Tag I used Crushed Oil Distress Ink by Ranger and on the Love Tag I used Aged Mahogany Distress Ink by Ranger.  All other items are from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek; constructive criticism is welcome.

Oh Happy Day!

The last of the Sisterhood of Scrap Cool Treats! Challenges.  The Bonus Challenge was to POP something off your page! Let's see lots of dimension!

So again I used trusty Echo Park Country Drive scraps from a few layouts!  I can't get enough of Echo Park or this collection.

The flowers are Creative Memories, the punch is a Martha Stewart Ring Punch.  I used the American Crafts This to That Adhesive to POP up the bees and the flower.  I used two sets on the Oh Happy Day banner.

Thanks for stopping by....have a wonderful day!

Sweet Memories

Sharing a card I made with some pieces leftover from layouts a few posts ago here

The ribbon is Close To My Heart; all other materials are Echo Park Country Drive.  Oh, how I ♥ Echo Park!!  The punch is the Fiskars Sunburst Border Punch.

Workout #48 - Put A Bird On It

ScrapFIT has two workouts (challenges) each month.  I really like this challenge site and sometimes I play along.

I knew I had a few birds in my stash and decided to play along this time.  I had some older Fancy Pants Traditions in my stash and since Christmas is approximately 5 1/2 months away I figure I will start a little early.

I haven't put a sentiment on the card as I wait until I'm ready to send.  It normally depends on the recipient and the occasion.

Lastly was the photo challenge to show off some unique ideas and photography.  The five items this week were a watering can; a garden hose; a weed in your garden or flower bed; a photo of you holding a flower; a flower in your yard or park with a family member.  I won't bore you with the pictures of these.

As you can see Carla, Helen and Susan have put a lot of thought into these challenges.  They are loads of fun and get your creating juices flowing.  Week Three theme is Cool Treats!

You really should stop by!

Sizzlin' Summertime Fun - Fire in the Sky

Sisterhood of Scrap is having a Sizzlin' Summertime Fun!!!!

SOS is making sure you get some scrappy time in as you dash around with the kiddos from here to there; plus all the yard work and t-ball or baseball games and of course spending time BBQing, swimming, camping out and making smores by the campfire.

Each week, beginning July 1st (yeah I know I'm a little late) there is a different 'theme' with five challenges.  Each week consists of a layout sketch, card sketch, color challenge, bonus challenge and photo challenge.  The challenges are posted each Friday in the morning and you have until the following Thursday at midnight to complete them for 'tickets'.

Carla, Helen and Susan have put a lot of thought behind these challenges and it has been loads of fun so far (as we are only on week 2).

My projects for week one - Fire in the Sky - somewhat appropriate with July 1st being Canada Day and July 4th Independence Day in the US.  Anyways, onto the challenges and my projects!

Color Challenge

Materials List:
American Crafts Cardstock
Simple Stories Elementary Paper; Letters and Stickers
Miscellaneous Embellies and PreSchool Paper
and of course the artwork by my daughter

Little Yellow Bicycle Free Spirit Pink Geo
Little Yellow Bicycle Free Spirit Peace Die Cut
Little Yellow Bicycle Free Spirit Stickers

Card Sketch

Just Because

This card was made from scraps and items from my stash.

The bonus challenge was to create ANY project using a neutral color for the majority, and then use a color in a couple of elements to create a BURST of color.  I created a USA Card using some red cardstock; grungeboard letters and star and some Simple Stories Ribbon.  I used blue glitter on the letters and white glitter on the star (not much on the star).

Lastly was the photo challenge to show off some unique ideas and photography.  The five items were a picture of fireworks; the moon; something red, white and blue; a group gathered together and something sparkley.  I won't bore you with the pictures of these.  However I will tell you that I could not get a picture of the moon so I had to improvise with this......

If you are still with me...Thanks for stopping by!  I would also like to thank all of you who leave me such lovely comments.  I really do appreciate them!
