2011 Project 12

Every month at SOS Colleen host a Culinary Challenge and Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine has a Project 12 Challenge (similar to Project 365 only this is a layout a month).  I have been wanting to make my daughter a recipe album so I thought this would be the perfect chance.  Some months I enter the same layout other months I do two different layouts.  I am doing a 12 x 12 book for her and I'm going to use the WRMK Albums.  This way I can put them in as soon as they are complete and still be able to keep them in alphabetical order.

They may not be the best layouts; and they are not very trendy but they are what my daughter likes (she has picked out most of the embellies for each layout) and she will have a recipe book.  There is no rhyme or reason to the papers she picks just what we like.

January's Layout - Sweet Potato Casserole

February's Layout - Mini Pancake Muffins

March's Layout - Cherry Dump Cake

April's Layout - Sticky Buns

May's Layout - Breakfast Casserole

And a few other recipe layouts I've done....

Applesauce Cake

Chocolate Caramel Brownies

Happy Memorial Day!

I hope everyone will take a minute in their busy day today and say a prayer of thanks to our soldiers past and present.  I have very strong ties to the military, but no matter how you feel about the war, we can all pray for our soldiers' safety.  Happy Memorial Day to all those who have served and are serving today.  I thank you with all my heart for your sacrifices.

My Handsome Man

I actually can't believe I'm sharing this layout!  I always call my husband 'handsome' instead of by his name.  I had these silly photos of my husband from Raystown Lake when we were camping and boating and didn't know really what to do with them.  So my sister-in-law made me this little embellishment that says 'handsome'.  And I think it came together perfectly.  LOL

So I decided to post and enter in the Scrapfit Workout #44 - Stand By Your Man.

More Layouts

A couple of layouts to finish off my daughter's birthday pictures.  I think....I hope.

We got our daughter a play/swing set for her birthday but it hadn't arrived yet.  So we put a picture of the play/swing set in her birthday card.  Daddy is explaining to her why she has a picture in her card and he's telling her where we are going to put it in the yard when it arrives.

We had family portraits taken the other year at Christmas and I'm finally get around to scrapping them.  I just loved this picture of my husband and daughter.

Some of you may have already seen these as I've entered them in a few Challenges at Sisterhood of Scrap or maybe A 2 Z Scraplets .

Saturday Card Challenges

I had the pleasure of hosting the card challenges at Sisterhood of Scrap for May.  I had so much fun coming up with the challenges and making cards.  Never thought I would say that....LOL.

Saturday May 7th Challenge Requirements were to use the following sketch with some chipboard and a Mother's Day Card.  Here's the sketch....

And here's the example I made

May 14th challenge was to make any type of card with flowers and my example

Saturday, May 21st - Armed Forces Day.  My dear baby brother was just deployed to Afghanistan so in honor of that and Armed Forces Day I asked for any type of card in Red/White/Blue combo.  Here is my example

and finally Saturday, May 28th - a pink/brown color combination with a tag and chipboard.

Sketch 07-11 Reveal

It's time for the new sketch of the week at Sketches: Creatively Yours....Sketch 07-11.
Here is Ali's sketch

Here's my take using Sassafras Paper Crush and Count On Me.

The journaling reads:  April 2010 - You're first East Egg Hunt at GUMP Preschool.  They 'hid' plastic eggs filled with candy.  You had so much fun 'looking for the eggs' and got so much candy.  You were disappointed that you couldn't take the eggs homes.  You liked how colorful and pretty they were.
