Swing Free

One of the monthly challenges this month at Sisterhood of Scrap was for the first day of Spring.  You were to have something flying; use mostly green and flowers.  I also entered this is a challenge at Scrapville using this sketch.....

and the third challenge was at SEI Lifestyle where you just had to use 80% SEI product.  I had just received the green pack from SEI and thought it was perfect.  Here is what I came up with.

Saturday Card Challenges at SOS

I am not by any means a card maker; in fact I never made a card before joining SOS.  Every Saturday they have different card challenges so I thought I'd give it a try.

The March 5th Challenge was to have something layered on your card.  Here is my take....

The Challenge for March 19th was to find something in your house that is NOT a scrappy item, that you wouldn't normally use and use than on your card. Some of the girls used wax paper and shelf liners.  I used a piece of cardboard from a soda box (yeah I know....not much thought there).  Anyway; this is what I came up with.....

For March 26th you were to use a frame whether it's metal, cardstock or paper,  Here's my take....

Not the best cards that you've seen I'm sure; but I think with a little more practice and SOS Challenges I might just get there.  LOL

Monday Challenges at SOS

Thought I'd share some layouts that I've done for challenges at Sisterhood of Scrap.

......scraplift something from the gallery.  (the scan cut some of the stitching off on the corner...oops)

...include more than two sentences of journaling.  This layout is going to be the front page of the album for our vacation to Shenandoah Crossings in VA.  What an awesome place.

Another Monday Challenge was to create a layout with two photos from different occasions; of the same person (separated by years, like "then and now") or two different people, also separated in time - but they need to be compared to one another.

And the last one was to alter a household item....I received this arch in the mail from Lois...isn't it BEAUTIFUL.  I wanted to frame it but didn't want to take away from the beauty of the arch.  I added two little flowers, bling and a bow to the upper corner.  I have it on my desk at work and I've received numerous comments on the BEAUTIFUL arch.  Thanks Lois!!!!

Fish

Saturday night Helen hosted a one hour crop/challenge at Sisterhood Of Scrap.  These one hour crops really get exciting and get your adrenaline going.  I like that I can get a layout done in an hour and my mind sticks to it and can't change your mind a million times.  However, it also stresses me out to produce a good layout that I like.  Here's the sketch that Helen posted:

And here's my take on it:

The journaling reads:  Cedar Lake Campground July 2010 - The campground had a fishing contest for kids until 12.  I didn't even have a fishing pole.  I borrowed one from Hemi and I actually caught MY FIRST FISH with daddy's help.  I didn't want to touch it becuase I thought it was yucky.  You should have seen her face...it was so funny.  Poor little girl.  LOL
