Random Thoughts.....

WARNING......this may is a little lengthy and may will jump around but I need to get my thoughts out.  ♥♥♥  Thank you so much for listening.

I started my blog in March of 2011 and named it Veni Vidi Scrappy because I originally started it as a scrap blog.   I wanted to be able to share my layouts and cards with everyone.  Then in October of 2011 I got really sick and my blog was neglected as well as my scrap booking and card making. :(

Before I even started blogging I followed all the main scrapbook manufacturers like My Minds Eye, Basic Grey, Bella Blvd, My Little Shoebox, Teresa Collins, Websters and Tim Holtz just to name a few.  However, I also followed many many individual blogs and realized I wanted my blog to be so much more.

In 2012 I tried to get a routine down, but we all know good intentions don't always succeed.  I took on a part time job; work full time with about a 45 minute commute each way; I am taking online classes and I have a hubby and a five year old daughter.  She is in kindergarten and takes dance classes three night a week.  Not much time for me or the blog.  L

I have a love affair with quotes, useful tips and techniques of any kind, whether they are household, gardening, scrappy related, crafts, and I also love to cook and bake.  So I did some rearranging and tried to schedule some posts and that worked for a while.

I am by no means a writer....English was my worst subject in school and college.  Therefore, most of my posts (including this one) are probably not grammatically correct; however I hope that the posts are written well enough that my readers can understand.   J

I never in my life imagined that I would get 70+ readers with my little ole blog.

I totally adore this blog....Just Me My Solider and our 4 little chicks.  You really should stop and check it out.  She has a series that she does call BYH...Blog Your Heart

So, please bare with me as I am currently changing the blog design with the help of FREE blog backgrounds from Leelou Blogs.  So this in itself is a challenge, as I don't have much time and I am not a computer techy person.  LOL

I have been doing lots of crafts that I have seen around blogsphere.  I love to craft but have a hard time thinking outside the box.  Thank goodness for tutorials.  ♥♥♥

I have pictures to share but I can tell you they range from Valentine's Day to Christmas and everything in between. J

I hope to continue on the following schedule
  • Sunday            Quote of the Week
  • Monday            Marvelous Monday (moved from WOWZER's Wednesday)
  • Tuesday           Tipful Tuesday
  • Wednesday      WIP (Work in Progess Wednesday)
  • Thursday         Tasteful Thursday (moved from Fabulous Food Friday)
  • Friday              Misc

If you are still with me....thank you for listening.  I would love to hear any comments, suggestions, feedback you may have for my little ole' blog....even title suggestions.  I welcome constructive crisitism as well.  J

Tipful Tuesday - Stock Your Pantry....

.....with these all-nautrual staples.  When I was little my grandmother gave me lots of tips and tricks and to be honest, I thought I'd never use them.  Well I know have a family and a home of my own and use them many times.  Thanks Grandma!!!!

Baking Soda - it not only acts as a detergent to neutralize and cut fatty acids in dirt and grease but also effervesces when combined with acids, like vinegar and lemon juice.

Distilled White Vinegar - vinegar breaks down detergent buildup on clothes without harming them.  Add 1/2 for small loads and 1 cup for large loads to the rinse cycle to prevent yellowing and static cling.  It is also powerful enough to dissolve mineral deposits from glass.  It even kills mold and mildew.

Lemon Juice or Rind - use for a quick deodorizer, degreaser and bleaching agent.

Washing Soda - (because it's caustic, handle with gloves) an excellent water softener and a powerful scourer.

Borax - (like baking soda) Cuts dirt, stops growth of mold and mildew, softens water and deodorizes

Candles - Chill your candles in the fridge for 24 hours before you plan to use them; they'll burn longer and won't drip.  Good idea for a special dinner.

I hope you find these hints a little helpful......
